We waited. We wanted. We’re not sorry.

(73 reads) It all makes sense now - 340 ml is more than a name, it’s a self-fulfilling prophecy. Saturday night’s long-anticipated album launch overflowed with bubbling, liquid rhythm and the kind of love that Bob believed in. ‘Sorry For The Delay’ is 340ml of humour, humility and coolth made by hot men from the tropics.

Their must-groove dub beats and easy vocal incantations pulled out a gorgeous array of diverse beauty hidden beneath Cape Town’s veneer of post-colonial super-culture. There were flags flying, bums bumping, lips smiling, and tongues tying. Everybody succumbed to the band’s embedded charm and the music’s effortless joy, and by the time they had eased into hit tracks that got us hopping and bopping, the crowd was singing as one.

For most, their cyclic rhythms are a mantra, but some say it gets a little repetitive. Here’s where a little felasophy helps. Music is a state of grace, not a state of mind. Relax a little, enjoy the peeps, blend into the beat and you might just mellow into the magic! That’s the theory, anyway. A happy, brimful Assembly proved it.

Come back soon, 340 ml. All is forgiven.
